Kraljevsko akademsko prirodnjačko društvo Balkan

Kraljevsko akademsko prirodnjačko društvo Balkan was founded on December 23, 2010. Since its inception, members of the Society have organized educational programs for elementary school students in Serbia in cooperation with the "Stefan Prvovencani" National Library in Kraljevo, the Children's Resort on Goč, PHŠ "Dr. Djordje Radic", the Forestry School in Kraljevo, and other primary and secondary schools in the territory of the city of Kraljevo. To date, over 40 workshops have been realized with more than 2,000 participants, as well as more than 20 field trips to protected areas of our city and beyond.

"Natura 2000 Resource Center Serbia"

The Society is a member of the national network "Natura 2000 Resource Center Serbia", and actively participates in the implementation of the NATURA 2000 ecological network concept in cooperation with state authorities and institutions. It has organized scientific and professional lectures on the origin and emergence of infectious viral diseases in cooperation with the library in Kraljevo, as well as numerous other lectures and book promotions in the fields of biology, ecology, and environmental protection ("Griffon Vulture", "Handbook on Butterflies", "Fundamentals of Ecology"). The scientific and professional associate of the Society is the Veterinary Specialist Institute Kraljevo.

Collaborators

The Society has been the lead organization for a large number of projects funded by the Ministry of Education and Science, namely the Center for the Promotion of Science, the City of Kraljevo, JP "Srbijasume", NP "Djerdap", SRP "Pestersko polje", and others. Project collaborators include the "Mladen Karaman" Ecological Research Society from Kragujevac, the Institute of Biology and Ecology PMF Kragujevac, the Veterinary Specialist Institute Kraljevo, the "Stevan Jakovljevic" Serbian Biological Society, and others. Members of the Society work on the biodiversity research program of mountains Goč, Čemerno, Golija, Stolovi, Željin, NP Djerdap, Pešter, Lazarev Canyon, and others.
